Chapter 10

Camellia

I rolled over in bed, my head pounding. I had not been so drunk since the night my divorce was finalized.

I let out a tiny groan as I thought back to the night before. I had so much champagne after kissing Kai in front of Lucifer and Ric. I don't even know why I chose Kai over the other two.

I hated to admit it to myself, but part of me had chosen Kai because I had wanted to see if it would make the other two jealous. Who was I?

A woman that needed to get laid, that's who.

I felt arms wrap around me and pull me closer. Now I remembered the rest of the night. The blood. The conversation about what to do with me and my flickering eyes. The decision to spend the night together.

Of course, it was all innocent. The staying the night together part.

I cracked my eyes opened and bit my lip, trying not to make a noise. It would take me most of the day to recover from the hangover. Back in my twenties, I could drink like a fish and wake up with no hangover. Now I woke up with a raging headache and the urge to vomit.

Getting old was a downer.

The arms wrapped around me were strong. I looked down to see the scars on Lucifer's wrists. Someone he had once loved had done that to him. It wasn't really clear what happened to Lilith, but hopefully, she had gotten what was coming to her.

No wonder he didn't date.

Directly in front of me was Ric. He looked peaceful in his sleep and was snoring softly. Both men were radiating heat, and I snuggled down into the bed further. My leg brushed up against a foot. I looked to the end of the bed where Kai was sleeping soundly.

I vaguely remembered them playing Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine who slept on either side of me. It was cute seeing three grown-ass men playing a game that kids played to decide who went first.

Even though it was Kai's bed, he had lost. I moved my leg along his, and he shifted under the covers.

I didn't quite know how to feel about having three men interested in me. At least, they all seemed like they were interested in me. I didn't quite know what to do with that. I would be all for it. However, now that I had the spiders, I definitely didn't want to get too comfortable with them. What if they had to kill me?

I shivered in Lucifer's arms at the thought. He let out a sigh and pulled me even closer, bringing his fingertips to my temple. I felt a tingling sensation, and my headache was suddenly gone.

"Is that better?" he asked gently. His lips brushed against my ear, and I shivered again. He let out a small chuckle.

"I should get up." I tried to move out of his arms, but he didn't loosen his grip.

"Sleep a little longer. We had a long night. Especially you and all that drinking you did.
